Bomb Terror in Delhi
Simply horrible and downright despicable! Exploding bombs on innocent people during the festivities of Diwali and Eid in Delhi. Don’t these terrorists have a soul? Neha at Global Voices was one of the earliest bloggers to report on it.
River’s Blue Elephant narrowly escapes blasts at Sarojini Nagar Market. The chronology of the blasts suggests a deep-rooted conspiracy to disrupt the capital city repeatedly. Ck2 has pictures from The Hindu and CNN. Speculation is already rife in Delhi regards the suspected terrorist organizations involved; judging by the timing and extent of the blasts, chances are the speculation is not totally unfounded although religion is not yet blamed. Nitin does not mince any words in calling for "wiping out the terrorists and confronting their apologists - whoever or wherever they may be".
Jim Hoft aka Gateway Pundit has a great constantly-updating roundup. Sepoy shares a snapshot of Delhi from Agha Shahid Ali:
Chandni Chowk, Delhi
Swallow this summer street,
then wait for the monsoon.
Needles of rain
melt on the tongue. "Will you go
farther? A memory of drought
holds you: you remember
the taste of hungry words
and you chew syllables of salt.
Can you rinse away this city that lasts
like blood on the bitten tongue?
True. TJ, although an American citizen is not entirely neutral and rightly says that there is more at stake in Delhi. Well, sadly the value for life is not as high as in America. Shivam didn’t seem much perturbed until frantic phone calls started streaming in. Aaman Lamba links to a BBC video report. Uma MD has an extensive roundup from MSM sources. Primary Red rightly points out that we have been fostering this proxy war for far too long and it is time for concrete corrective measures. I will let you decide what they might be. Amrit cannot believe that the markets he frequented are spotted with blood now.

And then there would be investigations, commissions of enquiry, accusations, denials, rhetoric. There will remain questions though- what of them? What then, of the questions, that the dead shall ask?
My initial reaction here
Will come up with a longer article, or perhaps, a poem. That is kind of fatuous, but that is the way I speak best, and at a time like this, if one can do nothing better, one can at least not remain silent.

Where will it end. If the govt knows how to solve the problem and is not solving it due to political reasons or otherwise, the govt. is as much responsible for the Killings as the terrorists are. read more

It has been heartening to read all these posts and the united voice of condemnation against terror.

This was a very low thing to do, but then again so is every terrorist activity. Wonder if they ever have even a morsel of guilt when doing such dastardly activities.

Despicable behavior. It seems apparent that the Islamofascists really want to stir up the entire world against them in order to get the attention they desperately crave. It seems apparent that it is necessary for these thugs to shed innocent blood in order to enjoy their exclusive, private persecution-complex and cultural pity-party that they’ve staked out for themselves. People everywhere around the world are getting fed up with this crap.

Have begun work on the poem here.
It was actually begun after the events in London, and have posted those bits. Am now trying to find the words for Delhi, and to find the thread of commonality. Shall keep updating the poem and hope to complete it in about a months’s time.
