Toinks, one of the earliest ‘fun’ desi bloggers has moved to the new Rediff iLand platform. Rediff has tried to create a Live Journal-esque platform that also reminds you of Yahoo 360.
Looks warm and welcoming! This might get more kids to blog. Anyone care to review this new offering from Rediff?

don’t like. doesn’t mean it doesn’t rock. just means i don’t like it, for now. It’s new. It’ll take time getting used to. It’s new. Yep, it’s new. that’s why I don’t like it. what to do, I’m only human. It’ll take me time to get used to. But the new kids on the block will love it. It looks new. It looks gamey. It looks hip. It looks better than yahoo 360 and live journal. It’s a good step forward for rediff. Looks like they may be looking at blogs, seriously. Now, that’s worth thinking about. when rediff gets into blogs seriously, blogger might consider opening an office in India? Just. Cheers. TDU

It looks pathetic, badly put together and another in the line of ‘me too’ features that rediff seems to specialise in these days.
In fact, they do seem to be going pretty much the Indiatimes route, just get it done and the rest be damned kind of way; examples are their chat service, blogs and this too would join in pretty soon.
In the industry this is called as building up your inventory, so that you can sell more ads at a better rate to the advertisers based on how many million pageviews you are adding quarter on quarter.
