Idly And Gunpowder

When I was in primary school – I was one South Indian let lose amongst a crowd of North Indians. And well, my tiffin box had very different food. Idlis and dosas in plenty, with the exceptional red powder! Also known as Molaga Podi or Kara Podi, my North Indian friends would refer to it as Gunpowder. Mahanandi, the incredible food blog has pictures and recipe.

Hi Neha, thanks for link.

Gun powder, that is funny. What we consider gun powder is this red chilli-garlic powder. Really, we eat it with hot rice and ghee, ulcers be damned:)
