The post that made me break my new year resolution.
I don’t think girls name their sons after their “lovers”. I believe they never did. Dude (all Tamil dudes), grow up. There are few things I want to ask you though. 1) Why was she a Gujarathi, not a Tamilian? 2) He is suddenly in “holy love” after hearing that info about her son’s name? How “loving”. Oh well, I might as well give a miss to all my other questions.
To all Tamil dudes, Stop imagining girls soaked in rain. Take your wife and daughter(s) to swinmming pool. It is good for their health and yours too, I mean mental health; by that, I don’t mean any offense at all. Trust me, I do mean well.

Premalatha, Thanks for featuring me in Desipundit.. This gives me another window to stand and communicate with the world a little louder.
I never mentioned anywhere in the post that there was an element of love in between them. Its a happening between two college mates. U can call it crush. Love is too far from the events described in the post. It was all about mutual bonding, liking, friendship and affection.
//I don’t think girls name their sons after their “lovers?. I believe they never did. // – Everybody has their own belief. I respect your belief. All around the world people have a tendency to name their children after people whom they like.
//Dude (all Tamil dudes), grow up.// – yes its part of life. Events which appeared to be of foremost concern in college appears very silly and funny now. But cant lose that opportunity to smile on the occasions when the flick of those crush moments passes thru ones mind
) Why was she a Gujarathi, not a Tamilian?
answer: I guess she no other option because her parents were gujjus as well.
2)2) He is suddenly in “holy love? after hearing that info about her son’s name? How “loving?. Oh well, I might as well give a miss to all my other questions.
Hes not in love.. but he feels guilty as he had not stepped from his ego and talked to her during their last days in coll. It was pinch of sadness that engulfs him for his lost time.

The post expresses the feeling of a guy in his college days. The days of late adoloscence. Every body grows up. Sorry, I have no comments to offer if u had seen that part of the post as my attempt to display woman as a sex object. That was certainly not my intention.

Devnath,
Let me try to put all my thoughts before my boss comes. Luckily he is late today.
1) I don’t beleive it was a true incident.
2) when I write the word “believe” it does not mean a “belief system”. It is just my english (still trying to improve.)
3)Writing this kind of stuff gives a wrong kind of message to the society and it keeps them stuck in certain delusional culture set up. it doesn’t help them in their understanding the real life as real.
4) For every woman, whosoever was there in her past, becomes her ex. Women do not like to be reminded of their ex. I am a woman. I would know this better than you do, don’t you think?
5) you can play word games saying that you have not mentioned the word love etc. but, I am sure you and me and everyone else know what the post means. whether it is crush or love whatever the emotion conveyed in that post..
6) we all like to be reminded of our crush moments, including women. I remember too. I like too. I smile too. I understand that.
Why was she a Gujarathi, not a Tamilian?
answer: I guess she no other option because her parents were gujjus as well.
Because I believe it was not a true incident, I asked that question. if it was indeed true incident, I apologise.
The post expresses the feeling of a guy in his college days.
No. He remembers it very later.
Sorry, I have no comments to offer if u had seen that part of the post as my attempt to display woman as a sex object. That was certainly not my intention.
Conveying a message that women look like angels when they are soaked in rain is a WRONG message. and conveying a message that everyman looks at her and that made him angry etc. etc.. is WRONG.
It is just pure vulgur.
No, I don’t think women are sex objects. For me, men are. (sorry about the bad joke
).
btw,
Why did you remove your post?
(hope my reply is coherent enough to understand. sorry if I have missed some points. See you later in the evening.)
Premalatha, Thanks for featuring me in Desipundit.. This gives me another window to stand and communicate with the world a little louder.
that was the objective. Welcome to DP.
Thanks again. I value ur comments.
I am impressed.

Well Opinions differ. Its the way that opinions are communicated that matters most. I am learning them thru these forums.
I wish to share the history of this post ( the post is very much there) a little later in another of my blog.
I guess u are out of india too long so that u find certain common happenings very hard to believe.
Looking forward to your views on my other blogs as well.
Thanks for the support

I am not out of india for too long.
Please focus on the issue rather than on me.
No. Women do not name their children after their ex. particularly after that guy who passed a vulgur commnent on a raining day, who considers that as a crush, not love, and why would she think it (whatever the emotion it was) was that significant enough to name her child after him?
you call it a common thing happening in india? wow. how many girls you have come across, who have named their children after their exs?
( the post is very much there)
did you change the url of the post then? I have changed the link now. Hope it works now.
I wish to share the history of this post
could you please provide the link? thanks.

//I am not out of india for too long.

no comments
//particularly after that guy who passed a vulgur commnent on a raining day,//
what is the vulgar comment u talking about? In all sanity I do not find any vulgar comment attached to the post.
//you call it a common thing happening in india? wow. how many girls you have come across, who have named their children after their exs?//
I call people naming their kids after people they like and not gals naming their children after their exs.
Once I complete the history I will let u onto the link.
Thanks

Errr, while this polite clawing is all to the good, I *don’t* think that the all encompassing tone (example above) quite works. Pliss to speak for yourself and not a gender.
Yeah, the post reads fictional, with typically mawkish sentimentality that is SO common in the Kumudam/Ananda Vikatan mags.
But that is something one IS used to in Tamil short stories, and this one was relatively well written. Bittersweet. And as the gent says, the imagining about her in the rain ( and notice foot-in-mouth honesty telling her about it) happens at the hormonally challenged ages. Nothing vulgar, even if trite.
On the other hand, I kept puzzling over your “Duet” till I came to the comments. Regardless of your desi/non-desi status, writing “Dude” in Tamil reads and sounds really funny.

I’ve recorded my disagreement with the ’subjectivity’ of the contributor, here. I’m amused by the constant accusation that the post doesn’t recount a true incident. Whoever made that rule that blogs should only talk about true incidents? If something is just a figment of imagination, yet thought-provoking (and New-Year-resoultion-breaking), then why not?

Y should we assume he is an ex? Why can’t he be some one whom she admired, respected and cherished the time spent and wanted him as a role model for her son. I know there are some relationships which are more than a friend and less than ” love “. Just bcoz its happens to be a opposite gender why should we put it in “crush and love” folder?
Went through voice of wings views…liked it. Would have enjoyed it more..if it was in spoken tamil.
