I spot a Bangalore lover here. Thoughts and photographs. Charu – How did you ever manage to leave the city?
Bangalore has become a one-way city – if you miss a turn somewhere, chances are you need to drive to Pune to come back to where you were headed – and all this, not in one straight road but through various other one-way lanes across the city. People complain about traffic and congestion, most of the flyovers have been built and most of them don’t seem to have made much of a difference.

The easy way out is personified by the bangalore authorities including DCP Saleem who came out with this brainwave(now proven no-brainer) that one-ways will help improve the situation. Hell – that’s what they have managed to contrive of their decision. The roads are clogged with slow moving traffic and everyone’s driving zig zag b’cos he has to move from extreme left to extreme right to go to his destination – so that means there can be no lane discipline and add the fact that most people have these mobile calls coming in – and even the cops couldnt care less…a heady mixture enough to give us the nightmares for foolishly venturing on to the roads. Dont believe me? Come to JC Road and Lalbagh Road to see how the whole scene is enacted every day.
