Peter Foster of The Telegraph has some observations about the media coverage in the Rahul Mahajan case:
In the Mahajan case it is already happening again. Policemen make statements to the press about packets of white powder and their alleged contents within hours of the story breaking – and before any sensible lab test on the powder could have been carried out. Lab reports of blood and urine samples of the key players are leaked to the press and appear to be contradictory, further fuelling speculation. The headline in the Sunday Times summed it up as “True Lies: one event, many versions: Who’s doctoring the facts?�
