How mutineering changes things

I thought I’d take a moment to lay out for our readers how individual action in the context of a community CAN help change the status quo, particularly when it comes to political power and representation in the U.S. Here is step-by-step look at the BIG PICTURE.

Abhi at Sepia Mutiny weighs in on the recent episode when a Republican candidate in the Virginia Senate race directed a racial slur at an American-Indian and how it came back to bite him in the hinny.

i see no point in me commenting on the original website at this time there are 81 comments and all so inane, that it is hopeless to get a word heard :(

everyone is so touchy about racial prejudice ! it is high time that we look in our own back yard of the great desh, the purveyor of prejudice to the whole world and within.. these indian desis have a debilitating ‘minority’ chip on their shoulders to such an extent that they are incapable of any discerning opportunities! these ex-desis come from the priviliged classes back home, and the first ones to scream discrimination (anyone know about dr. manmohan singh’s daughter in the u.s.a?). grow up guys. getter a thicker skin. learn to work with and convince people to your point of view. don’t get upset about comments about gas station or 7-11 staffing. just think of the comments passed between you guys after a few drinks on the weekends spent in the lawns of the hamptons. think of the way the servants are treated back home in the great desi land. think of your caste prejudices. stop whining. and do something positive. and stop making smart ass comments about profiling of air travellers. it does not take much brains to do the critique. it takes far more intelligence to suggest alternatives. or put up with the universal hassle of the cop in front of you looking for the hidden arsenal within you. :) shame. shame. shame. :(
