The Moscow Tramway is older than Moscow Metro and the first tramway appeared towards the end of 19th century in April 1899. While the Metro is indeed the fastest way to get anywhere in Moscow, the Tramway is the way to go if you want to explore Moscow at your leisure. You can hop onto the Boulevard Ring which runs along the innermost of the 4 Ring Roads of Moscow and enjoy the scenic beauty. Since the Tramway is overground, unlike the Metro, it is considered safer and it naturally allows you to see the city and the life in a way that Metro cannot do.
