DesiPundit was down for the most part of yesterday. The problem – mechanical failure in the server – occured at our hosting provider’s end. We know that the posts and comments for October have been lost but we are trying to retrieve them. Regular posting will resume soon.
Update: We are adding the lost posts manually by back-dating them so don’t be alarmed if your DesiPundit feed suddenly explodes with updates. Website readers will not notice anything different. Unfortunately, adding the lost comments manually is just too painful.

Ouch. Hopefully you used something like pingdom.com so you got alerted when it happened. A couple of months ago I had a website (not a blog, but still) go down and I didn’t notice it until I got some confused emails from visitors, many hours later. Since then, I have all my websites monitored.
