And We’re Back

This is no joke and the post on Monday to shut down DesiPundit wasn’t either. Saket, a long-time contributor, has agreed to take over the reins of DesiPundit administrator owing to a change in his professional commitments. This allows me to take a step back , and entrust DesiPundit in the hands of a blogger whom I can trust *and* who can devote the necessary time needed to handle such a task.

However, I’ll still be on board and will assume an advisory/supervisory role. But I’ll not link to any posts or be actively involved in DesiPundit. I’ll be on  a sabbatical from DesiPundit for at least a year, if not more, to devote time to my academic and professional priorities. I was overwhelmed and  impressed by the response my drastic seemingly sudden announcement caused. Although most of you were sympathetic to the reasons for my decision, this move to revive DesiPundit is mainly because of the change in circumstances, and excellent suggestions I received via emails and comments.

Saket will be rolling out some administrative and structural changes soon that  will make DesiPundit a more vibrant community. If you  want to see a better DesiPundit, I urge you to help the team of contributors by doing some blogosphere-traveling of your own and sending in plenty of tip-offs.

Lol! This should have been done in the first place! Anyway, I’m glad. It saves me writing a DP obituary and makes Vikrant look a bit silly. Heh.

Sunny, “recent developments” make all the difference, as you can see from the link to Saket’s post above.

Let the Blog-God (there should be one among the 33 crores of hindu gods) bless the Vulturo and his team. Happy to know that my digestive juices won’t be missing DP at the end of the month.

Whew! That’s great news, especially since the original news nearly wiped the smile off my face. I appreciate that running something like DP can be quite draining, so didn’t comment when the original “Fare Thee Well” was posted.

But I think a big thank you is owed to Saket for taking such a huge thing onto his shoulders. So Saket, here it is: THANK YOU.
