Then he asked me for my number. No, he didn’t actually ask me for my number. He must have adapted to being fake-numbered many times. He asked me to note down his number on my phone. And then ring him up at once so that my number will be saved on his phone.
Two days later, as expected, I got a call from them. The lady was talking.

I have read the post before visiting the desipundit. First thing that came to my mind after reading the post was- “it should sure be amway”.
But Gaurav didn’t mention this anywhere. how come you know about this???
i am also victim of this Amway associates. They had forcefully taken me to a two hour session in Hyderabad. Horrible experience

My tactic to ward off these pests is simple. For the first “consultant” who gave me his card I gave an imaginary phone number.
And for all subsequent leaches, I gave them consultant #1’s phone number.
Rule of thumb – NEVER give your phone number. But can’t help as in Gaurav’s case where he asked him to dial the number so “number can be stored”. Leaches are also getting smart it appears.

P, I never found out what company they were pitching. But Amway is the most well-known MLM-er so I guess it’s become eponymous.

Yeah, You are right. I guess the links to other Amway victims prejudiced me. Anyway, it is a pretty effective technique.

go through the profiles of people in amway and try to understand it for your own sake what exactly this wonderful business is. i had been in this for years. somebod came after me like what you have mentioned above and i turned a deaf ear and now after 5 years i understood the concept now building it high time
