Ujjwal, who is apparently on a trip to Delhi is frustrated by the rude autowallahs, acrobatic motorcyclists and the jam packed buses. I can’t believe he has been away for only 16 months, Delhi’s traffic has been about the same for the last couple of decades. Ah! The charms of Amrika..
Ma had taken the car to college and hence I needed to figure out a way to reach there on time. As I walked out of my colony, I saw the auto-rickshaw I so desperately wanted to hire with little time at hand. As I waved it down, it accelerated ahead without even stopping to listen where I had to go. Strange. I felt a little insulted and rolled my eyes if someone noticed the event. Insignificant events assume significance in this part of the world and things I wouldn’t have cared about in America have to be taken care of. As I walked ahead, a God sent autowallah (an auto is a popular vehicle in India which runs on three wheels instead of four; its the cheaper alternative to the four wheeled cab) came from behind in his vehicle.

Dear Confused,
Please drop the sarcasm. It would be nice to have an unbiased description of the posts you link to. Leave the opinions and interpretations to the readers.
Thankyouverymuch.

Dear Tanmay,
I don’t interpret the post for anyone, readers are not kids that they would be led astray by my ’sarcasm’.
This has been discussed before, but let me repeat-the way DP works, contributors have the right to add their inputs to the post.
Why do you think if you are entitled to your opinion, then I am not entitled to mine?
Thanks.

hi,
I dropped a comment on Ujjwal’s blog and then what followed was a discussion over this ’sarcasm’ issue. But in the end the freedom of expression makes everybody a winner in this debate(if any!!) isn’t it!!.
thanks DP

Abhishek,
While this is hardly a debate, thanks for understanding anyway.
And you are welcome.

This is Ujjwal. I think i answered questions on my intent on the comments section of my blog. Again, its not about criticizing MY country and its people but rather the revealing the experience of travelling by oneself in Delhi’s buses and autos.
Thanks for the comments Tanmay, Aby and confused.

Dear Confused,
Thank you much for your faith is ‘us’ readers. I’m smiling ear to ear as I type.
My comment was NOT hinting at your RIGHT to express your opinion. Sorry if that’s how you interpreted it.
I’m contesting the fact that as a DesiPundit Contributor (which is quite a recognition of your ability as a critic and author), you should not pre-condition us into interpreting a post in a manner you deem fit. (Which also means: Yes, we do respect your opinion)
And the opinion would sure look better in the comments section in Ujjwal’s blog.
On DP, a brief, unbiased overview of the post would, however, be most welcome. But it’s your call.
Warm Regards and Best Wishes for a Great Year Ahead, for you and for DP…

Ujjwal,
Rest assured, it was never about criticizing your country. I do nothing if criticize.
Dear Tanmay,
Thank you for your kind words.
Ah! When I linked to your post, dear Tanmay, I said ‘lovely post’. Wasn’t that a biased approach designed to confuse the readers and made them read it in a certain way?
Why didn’t you protest then, ol’ friend?
Or there are biases and then there are biases?
