Powerful Images
Apologies that this post was put up here. A follow-up comment on the original blogger’s site indicated that the images came from the World Press Photo website.
I investigated the copyright rules of the World Press Photo website and it prevents the use of these photos on other sites.
This website has been produced under the auspices of the World Press Photo foundation. All photography copyrights are exclusively held by the respective photographers and their representatives. No images may be copied from this website. Contact the World Press Photo office to find out how to get in touch with the photographers.
In fact, when you right click to see the image url or download the image, it says “This image is protected by copyright. We kindly request you not to copy it”.
I respect those rules and I have taken down image and the link to Vinod’s site (while keeping original post’s wording below as an FYI of the history). If you are interested in the images, I suggest that you explore them on the World Press Photo site.
—–The original post—–
Vinod has a set of really powerful images from around the world. Amazing stuff.

Hi again- I got the same set of photographs via email last week. I wonder if it was taken from Vinod’s blog…

Yup, powerful images indeed.
But I thought I’d let you know that this set of pictures have been circulating as an email forward for sometime now.

Anantha - oh, sorry, I didn’t know that. From Vinod’s site or completely separately?

I never thought so many people would comment on that post item. I was casually posting one of the forwarded PPT which landed in my mailbox as usual. I have acknowledged this in the post comments itself. I have no time or interest to deal with the so-called horror-copyright stuff.
