Save the dogs

… citizens’ ire was directed at the Municipality, they reacted swiftly in order to cover their asses: They started catching these dogs using the most inhuman, barbaric means and slaughtering them. Instead of doing what they were originally supposed to - use the funds they were embezzling for the dogs’ welfare (and indirectly, the citizens’). Funds that should have been used to neuter these dogs so that they cannot proliferate. Funds that should have been used to providing these poor strays shelter, food and at the least, basic medical care, so that they don’t roam the streets, don’t get mauled by passing cars, don’t get kicked around by humans and don’t die of starvation and disease. So that they don’t get a chance to attack a child out of self-defense/aggression caused by disease and misery.

Shilpa urges readers to protest the barbaric slaughter of dogs in Bangalore .

What’s going on in Bangalore is a frickin shame! From Pranav’s blog:

I saw a video where a municipality worker caught a dog with a steel wire and the poor dog was still wagging its tail thinking its in for a treat. Its head was smashed in moments later.

Wow! Just wow!
