Maggi memories

Ammani remembers the first time she had Maggi.

Gomathy mami had turned off the hob and had spooned out the noodles into our quiveringly held plates. I scooped a spoonful and stuck a slippery eel of a noodle cluster into my mouth. The strings of noodles dangling outside my mouth were expertly sucked in. And this soon caught on as we each picked up a noodle strand and vacuumed them in. Gomathy mami and the rest of the household watched on with horrified fascination.

Neha is inspired and shares some cute memories of Maggi.

I am around 9 years old. Summer vacations. Bored to death. Everyone sleeping in the house. I dress up. Sit with a packet of Maggi, and pretend I am on one of those really dull cooking shows on Doordarshan. I proceed to yap about “Isko banane ki vidhi – ek donge mein paani ko garam kijiye, aur masala aur maggi daliye.â€?

Inkspill turns into a meme of sorts and shares the best and worst of Maggi memories.

Worst Memories of Maggi: When one childhood upchuck was blamed on Maggi and the Era Of The Blanket Ban began, and lasted for about ten years (The shrink uses this as the explanation for my….condition) The ban was removed when my Sis and I discovered the facts of life, the primary one being that we were two and mom was one, and we were loud and mom could give up under certain decibel conditions.
