We launched a couple of years back with the aim of showcasing the best of the Indian blogosphere and thus our tag line was simple, plain, and direct. But along the way, DesiPundit has evolved and may not have always lived up to the tag line given the subjective nature of blog quality. Yet DesiPundit continues to be popular and most readers seem to like the choice of our contributors. So in the spirit of change, we are calling for entries for a new DesiPundit tagline.

The rules are simple. Keep it short (10 words or less; lesser the better). Witty and use of puns get extra brownie points. And of course, reflect what DesiPundit means to you or stands for in the desi blogosphere. Be creative. Some of the cool taglines around the Internet can be found here just so you know what we are looking for.

Award for your efforts – $50 (paid via PayPal) provided we end up using the line. Submit your entries in the comments. Deadline – November 8th, 2007 23:59 CST.

Perhaps you may consider having multiple bylines (a la Greatbong) to add variety instead of sticking to one tagline only.

Yup we could. And we could dig into the entries for the slogan contest too. But somehow having one defining tagline especially for first-time visitors is much more useful.

The concept of ‘Indian Ocean’ is sooper. Rather than just a tagline I personally think it will make a great blog name for “The Best of the Indian Blogosphere” or a similar blog.
