They are such delicate words, and yet we bandy them about so freely, without giving a second thought to the gravitas that they hold in situations that truly test our soul: independence, freedom, liberty, democracy. These are words which people all over the world, all over the ages, have decided are worth standing up for, worth dying for. They are in a hiatus in Bangladesh today.
