Nope, I am not referring to a phone that you would address respectfully but a phone that Google was planning to launch. In an anti-climax, Google revealed that it was only introducing a new API for cell phone operators and app developers.
Rajiv lays out a wish-list from such a GPhone if it ever existed. Anyone up in Googleplex listening?

The gPhone was made up by tech-bloggers based on rumors that Google was working on “something in the mobile space.” Google, in a savvy free PR move, said nothing to dissuade them. Turned out they we’re just working on software. Go figure.
