Thanks to the success of Chak De, sports movies are the flavor of the season in Bollywood. Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal is just the first of them. Expect Pachyaik Dive or Dhishoom Boxing soon.
Meetu at Without Giving the Movie Away is supremely disappointed at this attempt at highlighting racism and feels Bollywood should stop tackling serious issues.
Baradwaj Rangan finds this movie to be a ‘Lagaan set out there instead of over here’ except that it isn’t Lagaan by any stretch of imagination in spite of immense potential.

“Bollywood should stop addressing issues. That is the lamest thing I heard all year. Honestly, movies are very strong medium which impact the lives of many people and we should take advantage of that and educate people of issues such racism. Do you have an idea of the magnitude racism it is prevelant around the world. It affects the lives of millions of people everyday. Do you know that there are still people who are denied loans, jobs, education ONLY on basis of their skin colour and ethnicity. In the light of cases like Jena 6, hurricane Katrina how can you ask bollywood to stop tackling issues. coming to Indians itself there are many people who still think we cant speak english and talk to like you are kid.I have some cooments posted from a shahrukh khan song on youtube
Little indian queers indians are scary? what a fucking joke alexander the great, genghis khan, and the british would agree with me on that fuck faggot india take a bath you hooked nose brown motherfuckers.” Do you notice the word brown…if it were a white person the comment would not contain white.
Sometime director have good intention but do not do a good job of porttraying the issue but that does not mean be stop but only strive to make it better job next time.
