If you thought the French had hazaar types of breads, Indians have their parathas to out-match them.
Shantanu profiles the ‘Indian breads’ in a delightful post [with help from an article in The Hindu] that almost shatters the myth that India is a rice nation.

The part you quote is from Hindu Businessline and not written by the blogger you link to. Read the article! The ‘research’ is lifted as is from the article. Most of the pictures are not his either… The first 5-6 paras of the post are his and are quite well-written. You may want to edit your post or link to the Hindu instead!

Hmmm…although I had noticed the citation to the Hindu article, I hadn’t read the original. We expect the bloggers to be honest regarding citation and referencing external sources.
Thanks for pointing it out to me. I’ll edit the post.

I think it has to do with lack of awareness of “fair use” as well as attributing and quoting properly from other sources. Since you have a large readership, perhaps you could write an article about this to promote awareness?
To his credit, he fixed the links on the images immediately. Which leads me to believe it *is* lack of awareness.
(I had submitted a comment similar to this before but it didn’t go through, I think. If you see a dupe, please feel free to delete one.)

Thanks, Manisha. I guess it was lack of awareness. BTW why don’t you write up that article on fair use and send it over? We would gladly link it.
If you prefer, send us the text and we can host it on DesiPundit with guest post status attributed to you.
