2008 in Bollywood

If 2007 was a lukewarm year for Bollywood afficionados, this new year seems very promising with a variety of hot picks. Sakshi lines up the ten most-awaited Bollywood releases in 2008.

…this film is not a copy of “I see dead people” uff Sixth Sense.

…Directed by India’s answer to Michael Jackson, Prabhudeva (only when it comes to dancing re, you people I tell ya!).

…..Bollywood’s next superhero project starring Abhishek Bachchan. Would be interesting to watch Abby Baby giving competition to Krrish baba, especially after Hrithik completely overshadowed him in Dhoom 2. And this bit takes the cake – Priyanka Chopra is playing the role of Abhishek’s bodyguard.

In the meantime one of those movies has already hit the theatres. How is Halla Bol faring? Here’s Meeta giving us a preview without giving the story away

Political dramas need a strong message backed by some power-packed dialogues and situations. And this is in addition to the regular requirement of well-thought out characters and a crisp screenplay. Halla Bol instead, has a regular message packaged shabbily around lame dialogues and contrived situations.
