Outside Support for Outsiders

Nitish Kumar and his fellow politicians may boast that Mumbai would be shut down without Bihari taxi drivers, but pray, what would the multitudes of their people do without Mumbai and Delhi? This is not a relationship of equals; the illegal Mexican immigrants may indeed be necessary for the success of the American economy but they can never command the respect of other Immigrant communities-Indians to give just one example.

Rohit at Retributions lays the blame squarely on the chief ministers of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh who have done little to create job opportunities in their states forcing many natives to migrate to other parts of India. And nope, that isn’t a justification for Raj Thackeray’s actions. He is still an ass.

A very infantile and regionalist article. Particularly this

“It will be welcome day in India’s history when a Marathi would have equal opportunities in Bihar as Biharis have in Mumbai; till that happens the people of heartland will not gain what they aspire most: Respect.

The choice is theirs. India will be watching.”

Is that Raj Thackeray writing using a pseudonym? So India is watching Bihari’s and wondering if they should be accorded any respect? WOW!! The mind boggles!!

Poor inference. All states and cities can’t have equal opportunities. UP and Punjab are agrarian states and you can’t expect taxi-drivers to be employed there.

Castes and regions don’t build cities. Any Indian can go to any City in search of livelihood.
