Indian Blogger Directory
Rada Radhakrishnan wrote in expressing frustrations of newbie bloggers in getting the word out and attracting visitors to their blogs. She suggested hosting a desi blogger directory that we could use to find newbies. In fact, we had one but the Wiki.com where we hosted it decided to shut shop one fine day erasing all submissions our readers had made. We never got back to doing it again. So do I have a answer for Rada?
India’s foremost tech blogger, Amit Agarwal has an excellent directory of Indian blogs that he personally maintains. I recommend it highly since it is easy to use and is neatly categorized although I’m flattered he slots me among veterans. In fact, I use it often to find blogs if Technorati or Google Blogsearch fails. I hope I found you a solution, Rada.

Hi, try out IndiBlogger.in as well - we have over 2000 blogs in the directory now and you can find blogs by name, city and tags!

Hi! Patrix!
Thanks!
There is only one (actually two)problem(s) with Amit’s directory. He puts forward the following criteria:-
1. Your blog has been around for more than 5 months.
2. Your blog has at least 50 articles
But Indiblogger.in does not have such pre-conditions, I find. Thank you for the tip, Renie..
Btw, a minor detail: this Rada is a guy, not a gal!

Rada, Glad you found it useful. Personally I find Amit’s criteria useful because most blogs die out within a few weeks when in fact they should be focusing on creating content instead of attracting readers. But I guess, folks at Indiblogger fulfill the demand of those bloggers.
And sorry for the gender goof-up.

I would go with Amit’s list, if it’s about quality. I am listed there as well

Hi,
There’s nothing very tough about Amit’s condition. I agree with Patrix. Blogging is not to be reduced to a banal affair. We should be a little serious about it if we want a peer group appreciation.
I for myself did not know that such a thing existed and it was a chance discovery for me the other day courtesy Google Search. Then I applied and the result was for me to see, just in a matter of a couple of days. I’m [A. N. Nanda] listed one among the 17 bloggers under the category “Writers, Authors, Critics, Poets, Literature”!
Thanks.
Nanda
