Kerala Crispies
Ever tried those tasty banana chips from Kerala? Personally, it’s one of my weaknesses, as far as Keralite cuisine is concerned.
Mishmash writes about the different variants of banana chips and offers tips on how to make them.
Pappadam, Pazham & upperis (raw green banana chips) are the first few entries, generally served on the extreme left of the “Thooshan ela”, narrow curved part of plantain/banana leaf. Banana chips are the signature crispy treats from Kerala and if you travel across the state, you will come across many small specialized shops selling these crispy treats, especially at the main bus stands and junctions.
