If one were to look at Lata Mangeshkar’s output in the 80s, it is evident that from 1980-85 the quality of her songs was much superior to those from the 1985-89 period. And I’m not talking only about how she sounded. The compositions themselves were quite ear-unfriendly in the post 1985 period.
