In Defence of Rajnikanth
It’s familiar territory. Someone calls Rajni rubbish. The rest throw stones at said name-calling someone. Mukundhan passionately rises to the defence of the Superstar and rationally attempts to counter the stereotypical abuse usually hurled at the man:
In the recent past, Rajnikanth has been the butt of jokes in the forwards I receive. Though I am not a proponent of the anti-hindi ideal, I have been pushed to the ends of tolerance by the too much nonsense written about him. Just like any constrained emotion assumes a retaliatory form, I have decided to write - for I consider this to be the best form of retaliation. Hot-headed regional fanatics can as well stop reading right here. Nothing in this world can change their ideology or their feeling of supremacy.
So read it if you are not a hot-headed regional fanatic. [Hat tip: Patrix]

It is clearly understood from this post that the author doesn’t appreciate good films or filmmakers. He appreciates the songs of Sivaji and trashes the songs of Dasavatharam!
Rajni is surely a commercial film directors perfect hero. But unfortunately in terms of acting he is several notches below Kamal. This is difficult to digest, but true!
It is sad that while films like Sivaji are hits, really good films like ‘Hey Ram’ and ‘Anbae Sivam’ are let down by the ill-informed audience. It is true that Rajini provides wholesome entertainment and there is no denying that. But audience needs to appreciate good acting also. Dont know when all this mindset will change.
