Twenty20 Tournament in the United States

One thing I realized from this tournament was that cricket in the US is an entirely different ballgame. It is and will always be played by a motley crew of South Asian, Carribean, Australian and British expatriates with local players, see team Canada for instance…I also seriously doubt how effective BCCI affiliate, USA Cricket Association, will be in promoting the game in the US. There is too much infighting and politics and they don’t understand a simple fact, grassroots.

While the IPL contest in India hots up, Santosh at Uber Desi gets press passes for a Twenty20 tournament in Florida and bumps into Miandad and Azharuddin. He writes about his experience in a three-part series – Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
