What happens when technology makes the future of a company’s product tenative? What if the company thinks they will sink because of the competition? Thadhagadhan on his self-titled blog, exposes how a mistake helped Proctor and Gamble stay afloat with their own new technology.
A forgetful employee at a small factory in Cincinnati forgot to turn off his machine when he went to lunch. The result? A frothing mass of lather filled with air bubbles. He almost threw the stuff away but instead decided to make it into soap. The soap floated. Thus, Ivory soap was born and became the mainstay of the Procter and Gamble Company.

This is not true. This is nothing but an urban legend. Mr Gamble spent years of research on developing this product. Even though the moral of the story is good, distorting facts to get on a moral high ground is not!

I agree with Star. Irrelevant if the story is true- we should all not let mistakes get us discouraged. In fact, the Native Americans say mistakes are lessons. It is how we decide respond to situations in our life (including mistakes) that makes all the difference!

“exposes”? This has been retold again and again for so many years. At the most you can call it retelling, not an expose.
