Can India produce a Gates,Larry or Zuckerburg?

Prashant at Pluggd.in does an introspection to find out why we don’t have something as big as a Google or a Microsoft? What is it that we are lacking?

Even among our startups, we are yet to see something beyond a Zoho or a Slideshare that is worth calling world class!

#2 Our Aversion toward extremism

We, as a society enshrine moderation. No one likes to take a firm stand and people feel offended when you advocate your believe passionately. I feel this uneasiness every time I advocate the merit of Wikipedia and ask people to contribute to it. Folks around us expect us to dilute every assertion with “It depends” and avoid confrontation. But confrontation and friction is required for excellence.
We need to teach ourself that confrontation is not insubordination.
