Gather around me as I would gather around you for, having waited long, I despaired seeing the lines of my hopes seemingly change direction to a path less traveled, and now I need to know how many ‘miles more to go before I sleep, for I have promises to keep’.

Praying

It is when I see beyond the obvious that I experience meaning in the seemingly meaningless. And when I fold my hands I do so in the belief that someday after I’m returned to whence I came from I’ll re-emerge in the faith of another!

Palm Wine Tapper

The palm knows me too well to let me slip, and it produces just enough to keep me coming back. Sometimes when I cling to the palm to gain a firm footing I realize that a sense of belonging is not limited to those of your own kind but to those you chose to embrace for, in the coming together of any kind there is only warmth to be found.
