Orissa Burning

Well, I shouldn’t really say that none of the blogs have mentioned it. Some have. Actually very few have. We have more important things to cover like the Barack Obama situation. Or the Gustav in the Americas. Or that some random indian was punched in the face and called names in some subway station in London.

Naveen thinks that the Indian blogosphere has neglected the Orissa violence. Sadly he doesn’t help his cause by not writing more about it either. Anyway, point taken.

Be content with poverty, and a lower social status? Perhaps that’s the problem which Mr Satpathy missed, while casually mentioning the “backward classes” to have been living without any problems. Besides, he claims he’s not talking against missionaries, but wait … he is.

A Candle in the Dark takes a look at the weird mix of politics and religion that seems to forgive any violence.

Strangely Italy of all places seems more interested in the violence in Orissa. Why is it any of their business? Atanu Dey reminds us (sarcastically) that it in fact is. Dilip however feels their expression of outrage is acceptable and within the realm of violation of human rights.

Why is it any of their business?

Why is it not? Care to explain, since you say it is?

Sorry, I meant “… since you ask why it is”.

Dilip, I think you answer that question. I was merely posing that question to set up Atanu’s post followed up by your response.

I am surprised to see most of the post on the web supporting the violence. I believed that even people of across all religion / caste etc are after all HUMANS with HEART for LOVE and CARE. However, the posts indicated MOST of people without HEART to talk about the sufferings of the people in front of their eyes but to care about the GOD who cannot be seen. These people do not care about the sufferings of the millions of people in front of their eyes, because of poverty, and are ready to support political people who performs yagya and rath yatra just for the cause of their political mileage. I pity! and pray that GOD give them GOOD thinking so that they become HUMANS with HEART.

Believe me the FUTURE is for the people who LOVES and CARES other human irrespective of CAST / RELIGION / REGION etc. Please open your eyes wide and see the whole world and DO NOT KEEP your mind locked in a small circle. PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW the PEOPLE WHO are ready to DIVIDE the people in the NAME of RELIGION / REGION / LANGUAGE etc.
