Sujatha writes interestingly and hilariously about attending an Obama rally in the battle-ground state of Pennsylvania.
With remarkable timeliness, the events of the evening were started off at 5 pm with a fairly inclusive non-denominational prayer by Sr. MaryAnn Something, praying for peace upon the world, the country and the candidate and all and sundry, followed by loud echoes of her Amen, reminding me of the days when I was called upon to sing a suitable shloka at the start of IEEE conferences on electrical engineering papers (Don’t ask why an engineering conference needed a starting prayer!). I was tempted to shout ‘Ameen’ or ‘Tathaastu’, but missed the moment by a millisecond.

It reminds me of those Nazi Rallies in Germany you see old newsreels of.
It is a very scary time in the United States. We are electing an American Hitler.

If you can’t see the obvious simularity to Hitler then you lack something in your soul. Obama is evil. Future generations will just take that statement as obvious and wonder how people like you would put him into power in the first place.S

I used to wonder why people didn’t realize how evil Hitler was.
And Now I am wondering the same about Obama.

Did you know in the old Roman empire that the leader (caesers they called themsevles) demanded by law that they would be worshiped as a living god.
Sound familiar, though perhaps, perhaps Obama will not be so bold to make it an actual law.
It will just be an expectation.
