Deepti is certainly not happy about Whisper’s new ad campaign.
They looked the same as the other ones except for the image of sanitary napkins in the shape of petals on the cover. Petals? Yeah sure, twisted, stinky, nauseating petals came to mind.
I wonder if it is ever possible for any woman to have a ‘happy period’?!

How exactly is that rant a criticism of Whisper’s ads?

And why does this deserve a “culture & society” tag?

@ Sriram: A lot of women I know (self included) found the ad utterly ludicrous. Deepti’s post is a rant about why happiness isn’t exactly possible during a period. Hence it illustrates why Whisper’s ‘Have a happy period’ is utterly ridiculous.
Perhaps the ‘culture and society’ tag is debatable since it already has been tagged ‘media’ but my thinking was that Whisper, through the media is addressing a cultural occurance, namely making it okay to talk about periods.
