If you are a fairer than most, you fit a wide variety of roles. If you are dark, a couple of obvious career paths are available to you.
You can position yourself as a “dusky sex siren”. This is the Bipasha Basu route. A newer actress barelling down this path is Jiah Khan.

That post reeks of bias. It is as if he concluded that the fairer you are, the higher list you get to and then ascribed arbitrary darkness levels and bucketed the ladies to lists to confirm what he concluded.
Even if he were right in the darkness levels and list classification, the average and median are too close to draw any conclusion. Besides he discounts the effect of makeups. I mean if a fair & lovely ad can show a lady in different complexions in 30 seconds, how do you know what her natural color is?
